Blast from the past! Rebecca Black's Friday is the best example of a viral music video, but for all the wrong reasons!
Rebecca Black uploaded her music video on February 2011 just like any other teenage girl hoping their dreams of becoming a pop star breakthrough. By March 31, 2011 it went viral until Rebecca Black was forced to take down the video by June, 2011. Why?
With 166 million views she became the victim of mass hate! The comments on her video where all horrific with people claiming things such as there ears were bleeding. The dislike bar was at 87% totalling 3.2 million dislikes. On top of all this, Rebecca Black received actual death threats at her house leading to her decision to remove the video. This story reached news stations and articles all around the world!
However it has not been all that bad for Rebecca, she was given the opportunity to attend the Video Music Awards and had a main appearance in Katy Perry's music video T.G.I.F an opportunity many young girls would squeal over. So everyone, I hope tomorrow you all have a great Friday, Friday got to get down on Friday! ;)
Rebecca Black decided to upload the video again, here's the link: http://youtu.be/kfVsfOSbJY0
